The Milky Way Photos

Many travel and landscape photographers do not to miss the opportunity to shoot the night sky views, including myself. I sometimes explore opportunities to take pictures of the stars and the Milky Way at night. Often the results, can depending on luck. 

Sometimes we are lucky enough to shoot the night sky. Sometimes the sky is too dark the clouds and we did not get anything. But if we are lucky, we will get a unique picture, although not perfect. 

These amazing photos show our Milky Way galaxy from the inside out. The Milky Way is actually a galaxy - a large system of stars, gas (mostly hydrogen), dust and dark matter that orbits a common center and is bound together by gravity.

Unduk Ngadau 2013

This story about the Unduk Ngadau competition held during Kaamatan festival at division level. Do you know what is Unduk Ngadau?

Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan is a beauty pageant held during the Kaamatan cultural event in Sabah, Malaysia. The title comes from the ethnic word Runduk Tadau which means 'the girl crowned by the sunlight'. Unduk Ngadau is one of the most recognizable cultural events in Sabah and the beauty pageant is unique to the state. In Rungus Language, Runduk means "to communicate", and Tadau means "the Sun", therefore Unduk Ngadau translates to communicate with Sundu (Kinorohingan) or God asking for blessing of sunlight.

But this is not the state level competition but the first step to the higher level. This competition will give way to contestant to compete at the district level later.

These are 3 contestants who have won the Unduk Ngadau competition at division level and will compete at the district level.

Talob Tagayo comes from the Kimaragang ethnic word which means 'big open market' organized by Kimaragang Malaysia Organization (KIMARANGANG).

Lagi Trip ke Kundasang. Kali ini Bersama Rombongan

Sekali lagi buat lawatan ke Kundasang, Ranau. Entah kali ke berapa datang ke sini saya pun sudah tidak boleh mengingatinya. Apapun, lawatan ini berbeza daripada lawatan sebelumnya kerana dilakukan bersama rombongan yang besar. Tak silap saya hampir 50 orang. Disertai oleh beberapa keluarga yang sama tempat kerja dengan saya. 

Salah satu tempat yang menjadi tumpuan trip kali ini, pusat penternakan dan pemprosesan lembu tenusu atau dikenali sebagai Desa Dairy Farm. Kalau hendak tahu lebih lanjut tentang tempat tu, klik saja pautan yang disertakan.

Sebelum menamatkan lawatan di sini (tak lama pun, cuma lebih kurang 30 minit), kami sempat bergambar bersama untuk kenang-kenangan.
